YOGA NIDRA TEACHER TRAINING

Join us for a Yoga Nidra Teacher Training course

Yoga Nidra is an evidence-based practice with proven benefits for people experiencing PTSD, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety, stress-related disorders and chemical dependency as well as for the establishment of joy, resilience and a sense of well-being in daily life.

Yoga Nidra literally means Yogic Sleep, and it is a state of conscious deep sleep, a dynamic sleep that takes place between the awakened state and the sleep state.

Yoga Nidra is qualitatively different from relaxation. It is a ‘sleep’ where all passions are spent; all the burdens are rendered to attain a more blissful state of mind, a relaxation much more intense than ordinary sleep. It is deemed to be a successful therapy for both recent and longstanding psychological disturbances of all kinds, especially high anxiety levels and neurotic behaviour patterns.

Research further shows that the brain experiences the same activity during a 30 minute Yoga Nidra practice as about 4 hours of sleep. If we regularly remove our stress by Yoga Nidra, we will not only sleep better, but also our sleep will be much more restorative. Through this form of relaxation we prepare our system to be in a state of perfect receptivity.

This Yoga Nidra Teacher Training course will explore the history and practice of this meditation, as well as delve into the science behind why and how it works.

Yoga Nidra teacher training is for anyone who wants to learn more about this ancient practice and further their therapeutic repertoire.
What you will learn:
- Conscious exploration of the waking state, the dreaming state, the sleeping state and how to experience all three collectively
- Understand brain wave patterning and common states of mind related to such patterns
- Evidenced based research on yoga nidra
- Understand how yoga nidra cam assist in mental health disorders
- Body-mind integration understanding
- How to achieve better concentration through yoga nidra
- How to change mental habits and achieve greatest potential
- Exploring the effective use of intentions, or sankalpas
- Understand Yoga philosophy and the mind in relation to current mental health framework
- Learn yoga nidra tools for own practice or delivering yoga teachings and philosophy to groups and individual in both clinical and private settings

This course attracts CPD points with Yoga Australia, Meditation Australia and other registration bodies. If you complete non-contact requirements, you will be issued with a 20hr certificate. If you only attend the contact hours, you will be issued with a 12hr certificate.

Upon completion of this course, you can undertake a range of courses with Zama Institute to upgrade your qualification.
