winter solstice sat 21 june

yoga_winter_wellnessWinter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year. The word solstice is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still). On this day, it is a tradition to honour the darkness while welcoming the light. After the winter solstice, the days slowly become longer, until the summer solstice where they shorten again.

As part of our Follow the Sun challenge, the 3pm classes* at both studios on Saturday 21 June will be 90min yin yoga classes by candle light. You are of course welcome to attend as normal even if you are not part of the Follow the Sun challenge 🙂

The class will feature specific yogic practices in the spirit of the solstice and will be a wonderful way to celebrate this once a year event.

Chai tea will be on offer to share after the class, and we’d love you to stay for a chat 🙂
