SUMMER SOLSTICE CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Friday 22nd December
Toowoomba: 5:30 hatha yoga
Brisbane: 5:20 hatha yoga
Join us for a wonderfully invigorating practice to celebrate the Summer Solstice and the year that’s been. The solstice marks the point in the season when the day and night are of equal length – a point of perfect balance!
We’ll be finishing off another brilliant year of doing what we love – yoga with you, our Zamis – with this practice of a mala of 108 sun salutations. After class we’ll have tea and chats and Christmas-y good fun!
We know, we know – 108 seems like A LOT. But 108 is a sacred number in yogic tradition, and there are 108 pithas (sacred sites) throughout India, and 108 marma points on the body. A mala string (to keep count while meditating) is made with 108 beads, and it is thought to be a ‘complete’ number. The three numbers are thought to also be significant – 1 and 0 are ‘special’ universal numbers, and 8 on its side represents ‘infinity’.
So, yep, it’s a lotta sun salutations but you’re going to feel AH-MAZING afterwards, and we’re doing it together to celebrate the Summer Solstice!
Normal class prices apply.
