transition into a time of rejuvenation, stillness & peace
Yin, Restorative, Meditation & Yoga Nidra Retreat
Sunday 11th August, 1pm-4pm with Yoga Therapist & Senior Yoga Teacher Deborah Hawkins
Zama Yoga Toowoomba
Know that you are always in transition as you move into a time of rejuvenation, a time of stillness and a time of peace as you turn in towards yourself. Join us for a relaxing and restful three hour retreat where you will be nurtured and guided through a beautiful combination of Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation & Yoga Nidra.
Yin Yoga ~ Poses are held that little bit longer to feel the soft, slow and juicy release as the body relaxes into the true pose after several minutes. As you embrace the stillness and lengthening, it allows the mind to enter a meditative state which in turn helps to de-stress both body and mind.
Restorative Yoga ~ Using props including bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps, you are guided into cosy, comforting and supportive (just like a welcome hug from someone near and dear) restorative yoga poses, held for longer than a normal yoga or yin yoga pose, as the body, breath and mind become settled and tune in to one another.
Meditation ~ You will work towards achieving a state of mindfulness where you can acknowledge whatever arises without judgement. Thoughts that come up you simply let dissolve, and then go back to the openness of the present moment.
Yoga Nidra ~ You will drift into yogic sleep, which allows the brain to 'power down' without fully falling asleep and releases serotonin, the mood-regulating hormone that lessens anxiety and invites calmness.
Sometimes when we push the body too far it pushes back so in this retreat let your body find its own way by surrendering and create space to receive all that is coming to you.
