In yin yoga, we hold poses that liiiittle bit longer to feel the soft, slow and juicy release as the body relaxes into the true pose after several minutes. In this workshop, we will use the luxury of extra time - a glorious three hours! - to really explore poses from a variety of angles to truly and deeply let the shift happen in the body. Many poses in yin yoga can be adjusted and altered, using both props and physical cues, to create a different shape, and feeling for the body. In this workshop you will learn how to 'customise' poses to suit you and your body in any given moment.
Holding a pose for longer, and embracing the stillness and lengthening, lets the mind enter a meditative state which in turn helps to de-stress both body and mind. Let tension float away as you sink and shift.

Daily life can be stressful, we know. The constant over-stimulation, the fullness of our schedules - sometimes it's just too much! The time has come to start simplifying, de-cluttering, and let the shift happen. This three hour Restorative Yoga retreat will do just that - a way to clean and clear out the constant internal chatter and let the body just be still. Using props - including bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps - you will be guided into cosy, comforting and supportive (just like a welcome hug from someone near and dear) restorative yoga poses, held for longer than a normal yoga pose, as the body, breath and mind become settled and tune in to one another. Restorative Yoga goes hand-in-hand with some yummy and delicious yoga nidra - a yogic sleep that lowers the state of consciousness to hover in a place that is just between waking and sleeping. During yoga nidra, the body is totally and completely relaxed, which calms the nervous system which aids the relieving of stress in the body and mind.
