What to expect at your first Barre class

It’s only natural to feel a little apprehensive about trying something new for the first time. We are here to answer any questions and ease any worries you might have. Before you come into the studio, here’s a quick run-down of what you can expect at a Barre class. Do keep in mind that our teachers add their own personal twist to each class, so you’ll never work through the same routine twice. Remember, variety is the spice of life!
- First things first, we’ll crank up the beats, find a place along the barre, and warm up our bodies. Think upper-body exercises with or without hand weights that work into the triceps and biceps.
- Then, we’ll move into the larger upper-body muscles, such as the back, chest, and core. We will open, strengthen, and continue to get our hearts pumping.
- Now, the lower body. This is where the barre, balls, and resistance straps come in handy. We’ll go through a number of lower-body exercises that strengthen the calves, thighs, and glutes. Remember to keep your core turned on the whole time.
- Finally, we will stretch and relieve any left-over tension, as we cool down and finish up the class.
And that’s it! By this stage you will feel the burn. Everywhere. And it will feel AMAZING.
