Mat & Reformer Pilates Training Toowoomba September 2023

Do you want to start a career as a Pilates teacher? Or, for those already in the health and fitness industry, add Pilates teaching to your repertoire?

The September 2023 Pilates Training intake is a combination of three days of face to face training as well as online training.

You will graduate with Level 1 Mat Pilates, Level 2 Mat Pilates (Ball, Band & Circle) and Level 1 Reformer Pilates certificates.

what you will learn

Day 1 – Pilates Foundations

  • History, philosophy and principles of the Pilates Method
  • Postural assessment, identification of faulty posture and how to assist with postural correction
  • Pilates breath and basic anatomy relevant to Pilates
  • In depth analysis of mat Pilates repertoire
  • Pre-exercise clearance of clients
  • Understanding of scope of practice

Day 2 – Pilates

  • Repertoire of mat Pilates exercises
  • Teaching methodology including cueing, adjusting, alignment and terminology
  • Programming and sequencing
  • Matwork Pilates exercises with Pilates ball, resistance bands and Pilates circle

Day 3 – Reformer Pilates

  • Anatomy of a reformer
  • Repertoire of reformer exercises, including how to use props with the reformer
  • Teaching methodology including cueing, adjusting, alignment and terminology
  • Programming and sequencing

Upon completion, students will be able to confidently plan and teach full mat work and reformer Pilates classes to groups and individuals.

The course requires additional online study, including reading, videos, quizzes, self-practice and teaching practice. As well as videos, the course manual includes written instructions on how to perform and instruct all exercises. There is also a required textbook that covers Pilates anatomy which is a great point of reference.

The Pilates Level 1 Matwork, Intro to Level 2 and Reformer Level 1 Training course is scheduled Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July in Toowoomba at Sculpt & Soul 3 Keefe Street. Each day will start at 9am, with finishing times variable.

Upon completion, all graduates will be eligible for insurance and able to teach mat and reformer Pilates. Our Level 1 Pilates Mat work course is accredited with Physical Activity Australia.
