The spine is, quite literally, the backbone of all physical movement - both in yoga and in daily life. However, the way we live our lives in modern times - sitting for long periods of time, curled over keyboards - has meant that many people experience back or neck pain in their lifetime. It is reported that one in six Australians have back and spine issues, which is 16% of the population. In this three hour workshop, you will learn how to not compromise the spine to "achieve" a pose in your practice, and how to safely adjust poses to accomodate injuries of the spine or chronic back and neck pain. We will also explore which poses relieve back and neck pain, and work to rehabilitate injuries related to the spine with asana. Given the holistic nature of the body in its entirety, so many other parts of the body are impacted if you have an unhappy spine, so we will think of your limbs as extensions of the spine, and work to create fluidity and flow in your yoga practice and find your liquid spine.

A lucid mind is a mind that is totally awake and aware, conscious and directed. During this three hour workshop, we will explore several different styles of meditation, both traditional and modern, to help you find a state of lucidity and focus in the present moment, where your mind is travelling in the direction that you want it to. 

This journey of the mind will be companied by restorative yoga poses, to calm the body to make space for mental stillness, and yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is the practice of yogic sleep, where the body is in complete comfort and the mind hovers between awake and asleep in a beautiful and revitalising meditation. Join us as you work to find your lucid mind.
