During a hot yoga class, you sweat toxins and bad stuff from your body, and we all know how great it is to sweat. But when you sweat, you also lose water and electrolytes or salts (sodium, potassium etc) which can lead to dehydration. Hydration is critical to health, so you need to make sure you hydrate effectively before and after hot yoga. How do you do this…?
Everyday: Drink about 3 litres of water with himalayan rock salt and a few tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice.
After hot yoga: Drink about 2 litres of water with himalayan rock salt and fresh lemon or lime juice. Drink young coconut juice (coconut water). Try to avoid the prepackaged coconut water, and opt for fresh young coconuts. We will be stocking young, chemical free, coconuts at the Toowong studio very soon, so you will be able to grab one after class!
Stay hydrated, stay healthly and get the benefits of sweat without dehydration!
