220g wholemeal plain flour
50g rolled oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon dried yeast
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla bean extract
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup macadamia nut oil or olive oil
1 egg, lightly beaten
80g raisins or sultanas
50g currants


Combine flour, oats, cinnamon, yeast and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl.
Heat milk, vanilla and honey until just slightly warm, then add into mixing bowl, followed by the egg and oil.
Mix dough until it is smooth and elastic. Add raisins, sultanas and currants until mixed through.
Cover bowl with a cloth or glad wrap and leave dough to rise (until it has doubled in size) in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Kneed lightly, then form dough into 10 rolls.
Cover lightly and allow to rise for another 30 minutes or until double in size.
Bake at 160 C for 20 minutes until golden.

Wait until cooled, then pipe a cross made from organic white or dark chocolate on top of the buns.
