Backward bending promotes mobility in the spine and can relieve back pain, strengthen the back and stretch the front of the body. It also flushes out the kidneys helping to detoxify the body and opens the chest and the heart, clearing energy in this area and helping to improve posture (e.g. hunched shoulders).
The most common mistake made in backbends is to bend the lower back, rather than bending backwards by opening the chest. Just like a forward bend is called a forward bend because we are bending forward, backbends are called backbends because we bend in a backwards direction NOT because we are bending our backs!
Join Hayley to learn how to correctly and safely backwards bend and see the world from another angle! Book here now.
