The practice of Surya Namaskar (known in English as Sun Salutations) is a foundation in many of your yoga classes. This sequence of asanas is beautifully balanced, and draws the energy of the sun into the body through the equal amount of forward and back bends, and upwards and downward motions.
For this core practice to be beneficial, an awareness and understanding of alignment is essential. This master class will go even further and enhance your understanding of anatomy as your motions are explained during the salute to the sun sequence.
During yoga, as with any physical exercise, a deeper awareness of the fundamental yoga asana alignment will help you stay safe and injury-free during your practice. With this physical ease, comes a quieting and focusing of the mind.
